the unknown visitor

we live..sort of in the country...about 5 days ago a lonesome little puppy showed up....cute - looks like part cocker spaniel, part toy something - pitch black...clearly a house dog that someone either decided that they couldn't keep in these tough times...or the puppy just got lost....we get a lot of "dog dumping" ...not as much as we used to since our road got paved...but a lot. I wonder why people think it's better to dump a dog...rather than take one to the pound? We bathed the dog yesterday...she had about 20+ ticks...she's starving....our big dog think she's an appetizer...he doesn't know how to play.....I guess we'll try to find a home for her today. We had tried to feed her some of the food we have her - but she couldn't eat it - finally realized her teeth are so tiny - so we cut up hot dog, bologna & grated cheese....she wolfed it down. Poor starving thing. Hard times for everyone....guess we're all waiting on change.
